Quick, quality work by PCDG allows complex to host top collegiate event

LEESBURG, Fla. – (May 3, 2021) PCDG Construction is proud to have completed a $311,000 renovation of Sleepy Hollow Softball Complex, upgrading the facilities in just 25 days to prepare for THE Spring Games, the world's largest collegiate softball event.

“Premier athletes deserve premier facilities, and we were honored to help provide that for the teams in the Big 10 ‘Bubble’ event kicking off THE Spring Games,” said Dan Stewart, Director of Business Development at general contractor PCDG Construction.

The event hosted 14 Big 10 teams to kick off THE Spring Games, a softball event that brings thousands of college players to central Florida every February and March. PCDG renovated the facility’s four tournament softball fields and transformed two additional fields from traditional baseball grass infield to a clay infield suited for softball. Three hitting tunnels were enlarged and renovated with new professional grade netting and screens.

The softball facility is part of Sleepy Hollow Recreation Complex, a multi-sports facility owned and operated by the city of Leesburg. The renovation began on January 18, and was completely renovated in 25 days, just in time to host the the teams over two weekends. The complex also hosts local adult and youth baseball and softball leagues and travel teams year-round.

“With everything we build, our priority is to deliver a top-quality project that improves the community around it,” said Richard G. Zahn, Sr., Chairman for New Smyrna, Fla.-based Prospect Real Estate Group, the parent company of PCDG. “Sleepy Hollow Sports Complex is an integral part of this community, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to provide world-class amenities for the college players who come here each spring and to the kids and adults who play here year-round.”
